The following is the list of our services in helping with strip gage issues:

• Statistical review of strip thickness: We'll obtain the average, standard deviation and the distribution of head end lengths per product per thickness range. Usually this kind of statistical review not only provides an overview of the mill’s performance, but it also reveals important information about the consistency of the setup and the automatic gage control system.

• Process capability on gage:  Number of coils meeting the target gage.

• Root cause analysis: On problematic products, we will perform root cause analysis by reviewing the setups and the automatic gage control system. 

• X-ray instrumentation: We can review the entire measurement system including calibration procedures.

• AGC and feed forward systems: We’ll do a data-based review of the entire system and could if needed provide tuning for the PID controls. For our capabilities here please see the section on: Modeling/Analysis of Control Systems
